Women for Peace Campaign
Who we are
The Women for Peace Campaign was initiated by Anna Hakobyan, wife of the Prime Minister of Armenia, in 2018. The idea was born in 2016 after the April Four Day War, related to the Karabakh conflict, which took the lives of hundreds of people from Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan. During those days peaceful civilians, children, teenage conscripts, young and elderly men and women lost their lives.
Anna Hakobyan lived through that tragedy when she covered the events as a journalist. The escalation of the conflict and its consequences had a big impact on her, and from then on she decided to actively campaign for peace in the region as well as the world.
