Women for Peace Campaign

D e c l a r a t i o n

Peace is possible where there is belief. Peace is established by those who have the courage to dream about it and who find the willpower to achieve it together.

Every day, human lives are shattered in fierce, frozen, or creeping conflicts. Wars take people’s loved ones from them forever. They snatch their peaceful, happy, and creative lives and even the hope of one. Wars estrange people from their houses and fundamental rights. These wars need to stop.

We, as mothers, sisters, daughters, and primarily as women, demand peace.

Women and Peace

Women and Peace are not identical. Women know how to fight for their homes, their loved ones, and their rights. Nonetheless, women have the right to voice their collective demand for peace.

Not all women are mothers; however, all people have mothers. Thus, women have the right to demand care and love for all generations – their motherly demand for peace.

Not all women are sisters; however, all women can be sisters to one another and to men. Thus, women have the right to demand equality and dialogue – their sisterly demand for peace.

All women are daughters. Thus, all women have the right to their daughterly demand to inherit peace.

Vision for Peace

Peace is the absence of violence, danger, threat, and fear. It is the presence of love, trust, cooperation, and security. We demand the exclusion of violence and the use of force for the sake of solidarity and peaceful coexistence.

Knowing each other without hate does not signify weakness or having lost. To hate and to preach hatred do not increase society’s capacity for self defence. Preaching hatred chains people, enslaving them and future generations.

Peace between individuals can lead to peace between societies. Everyday peace can lead to geopolitical peace. Peace requires individual and joint efforts.

History, Pain, and Victory

Mankind has seen and overcome many bloody wars. Does that mean that those who established peace disrespected the memory of the victims?

Exactly the opposite.

Heroes perish for the sake of life, for the happiness of their loved ones, and for peace to come. Thus, peace is the right way to glorify the memory of the perished. Victory is not established by war, but by peace. Peace is the victory of all.

We can have deeply rooted disagreements about history, but human pain unites us. It is possible to ease the pain humanely by sharing each other’s pain, and demanding together: No more victims.

Invitation to collaborate

We invite all the women in the world to join and contribute to this campaign. We invite all the men in the world to express their support for this campaign. The campaign is open for all individuals and communities.

We express our solidarity with all such initiatives. Independent of each other but referencing each other, we will make the geography of peace bigger. We are sure that our peoples dream of peace. We know that we are many.

Peace is established by those who have the courage to dream about it, who find the willpower to achieve it together. Peace is possible where there is belief.
